Product Description
GE Nylon - Hydrophobic membrane is a pure polymer internally supported with an inert polyester web. It is a supported, hydrophobic nylon impervious to aqueous-based solutions making it ideal for use in venting applications.
Ideal for Venting Applications
This nylon membrane is produced through a proprietary manufacturing process that employs high quality standards throughout every step of production. This level of quality generates lot-to-lot consistency among the membranes ensuring product uniformity that results in consistent, reliable flow rates.
During production, the membrane is rendered hydrophobic by proprietary chemical post-treatment. This treatment allows the membrane to repel most aqueous solutions without impeding the membrane's ability to vent gases. The resulting membrane has a void volume of 70-85 percent for high diffusion and low-flow resistance.
A unique feature of GE Nylon - Hydrophobic membrane is its internal polyester support web that gives it added dimensional strength and stability to prevent cracking, tearing, curling and breaking. This added strength and durability is advantageous during usage that involves aggressive handling or automated equipment.
GE Nylon - Hydrophobic membrane can be used in many applications including bag vents, spike vents, transducer protectors, insufflation filters and CO2 monitors.
Flexibility for OEM Requirements
GE Nylon - Hydrophobic membrane is available in rolls up to 33 cm (13 inches) wide, as well as sheets, cut discs and pleat packs that can be customized to meet your application and size requirements. Because the GE Nylon - Hydrophobic membrane is manufactured on-site in GE Osmonics facilities, all customization is easy and cost-effective.
