Product Description
GE Nitrocellulose Mixed Esters (MCE) membrane is an unsupported, naturally hydrophilic membrane. It is ideal for use in diagnostic kit manufacturing applications.
Consistent Uniformity to Improve Control and Performance
Produced through a proprietary manufacturing process, Magna Nitrocellulose MCE meets rigorous quality standards throughout every step of production. This process ensures the membrane has a uniform pore structure and consistent thickness and cosmetic characteristics.
This membrane is cast from a high-quality, nitrocellulose polymer. Its thickness can be controlled to plus or minus 10 microns to accommodate various applications.
GE Nitrocellulose MCE is easily blocked giving a very low background. This aids in the detection of low-level analytes and makes this membrane ideal for use in lateral flow assays and dot/slot blotting. The large, consistent pore structure promotes fast wick rates and ensures rapid test results in diagnostic kit applications
Flexibility for OEM Requirements
GE Nitrocellulose MCE is available in plain or grid rolls from 1 cm (0.39 in) up to 40 cm (16 inches) wide. It is also available in sheets and cut discs that can be customized to meet your application and size requirements. Slitting tolerance is from +/- 0.16 cm (+/- 0.0625 in) Because GE Nitrocellulose MCE is manufactured on-site in GE Osmonics facilities all customization, such as wicking rate and thickness, is easy and cost-effective.
