Product Description
The GE glass fiber 25GS sterile syringe filter is a presterilized, individually blister packed 25 mm syringe prefilter unit designed for clarification of extremely viscous samples that may clog a membrane filter too quickly or for clarification procedures where a membrane filter is not necessary. This unit has a high contaminant loading ability allowing for high
throughputs.
The GE Glass Fiber GS prefilter unit comprises a nominal 1.0 micron binder-free 100% borosilicate glass fiber filter within an acrylic housing. The non-sterile unit is manufactured from polypropylene which is highly temperature resistant and autoclavable.
The borosilicate glass has a low affinity for protein. The 1.0 micron pore size makes it well suited for cell-media separations prior to sterilization as well as general filtration for solutions with large particulate loads. Glass Fibers prefilters are described in detail in the membrane section.
All units are tested to verify filter and housing integrity. These units are individually packaged and gamma irradiation sterilized. Each unit is individually labeled with pore size and filter type for quick, easy identification.
